Setting auto redial in Microsoft Dial-Up Networking

Step 1 : Double click on the "My Computer" icon.
The My Computer icon is normally located in the upper left hand corner of your screen. (Note: if double clicking does not work, highlight the icon by clicking on it one time then press the "ENTER" or "RETURN" key on your keyboard.)

Step 2 : Double click on the "Dial-Up Networking" icon.
If you do not have a "Dial-Up Networking" icon under "My Computer" you should see "How to install Dial-up Networking". (Note: if double clicking does not work, highlight the icon by clicking on it one time then press the "ENTER" or "RETURN" key on your keyboard.)


Step 3 : Click one time on the "Train" icon to select it. Then click one time on "Connections" and click one time on "Settings..." .

Step 4 : Click one time on "Redial" so that there is a check in the "Redial" box. Enter the number "99" in the "Before giving up retry: " box. Click one time on the "OK" button.
Dial-Up Networking Settings In most cases the "Between tries wait:" should default to 0 mins. 0 secs. If your modem repeatedly misdials, reports "no dialtone" or seems to develop other problems when attempting to redial, you may need to increase the amount of time to wait between redials to 2 or more seconds.
