Missouri.
Enjoy a day of quiet relaxed canoeing or fishing, a private area for camping - the entire outdoors is yours.
Although the area is usually slow-paced and homey, the days can come alive with excitement, especially in the summer months.
The opening on Montauk State Park brings hundreds of visitors to the Licking area as does the available access to the area riverway's.
Licking is also the home of the only Professional rodeo in the country. Nationally know riders and ropers participate in the three day, Chamber of Commerce sponsored event. The annual July celebration attracts kids of all ages, with a midway of excellent quality, free entertainment from country, gospel, blue grass to pop rock, and one night under the big top with nationally know singers, sponsored by the Intercounty Electric Cooperative.
The area is rich in heritage, as is proven by the many antiques in use in homes today and for sale in many shops in the Ozarks. Licking is proud of its past and even prouder of it's future. After all, we are the "Pride of the Ozarks".
